What Do You Really Want?

What do you really want?

Many of us have been asked this question, and have asked ourselves this question, and I would like you to take the time now.  To really ask yourself.  What do you want?  What do you really really want?

Most people get shy about this question.

There are many reasons for this.  It brings up our sense of deservedness, or lack thereof.  Mostly our lack.  Other questions may arise at this time such as, “who do you think you are?” Or, “what makes you think you can have that?”

These are actually very important questions to answer – likely imperative before you can really reveal the true wanting of your heart’s desire.

Let’s start with, “who do you think you are?”

Take a moment and ponder this deeply.  Your answer will create the template of what you can have, generate, receive or create.  Personally, I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of this question my whole life.

I have come to the conclusion that I am a spiritual being (from where I cannot say, but I do not originate from this planet).  I was born into and reside in this amazing incredible and miraculous body that allows my spirit to manifest into the physical world anything my imagination can conjure.  Almost like my imagination is the translator between the potentiality of unseen thought form into physical matter.  My body is the interface between the spirit world (or all potential creation) and the physical world (formless substance manifested into material form).  How exciting is that?

So if that is even remotely true – or even a fraction of this is possible or real - then we must determine what we deserve.

How to determine this random and subjective measure of our worth? Well, you probably have some ideas you’ve developed or have been thrown at you over the years… Depending on how kind you are, or beautiful you are, or productive, or educated, or charming, or famous, or popular, or rich, or … you get the picture.

Take a moment and list the ideas floating around in your mind right now.

Ok, so now that you have your list (that you either had to use a crowbar to pry out of your mind, or sadly flowed effortlessly off the top of your mind) we need to verify the truthfulness of these ideas.  Ask yourself how these ideas land, and then sit, in your being, in your body, when you bring them to mind.  Track what happens as you roll each idea around in the bowl of your mind.  Taste and sip each idea and keenly track what happens.

Now ask yourself:  Is that true? Is that really true? Do you know this beyond a shadow of a doubt? How do you know?  If not, what is more true?

Be as accurate as possible.  Now, ask yourself again – what is the truth of the matter?

Who do I think I am, and what do I deserve?

I experienced the privilege of being born here on earth.  I inherited the gift of self-awareness.  I am able, and therefore am allowed, and so deserve, to use this awareness to enjoy, explore, and discover what is on this earth.

I can use my mind and imagination to also discover and explore what has not yet arrived on earth, but in the recesses of my mind, quietly forming and unfolding, worlds are being created in my mind.

This incredible capacity to create – to be a creator – demands respect and awe.

In part, this is why I deserve to be alive and to be loved exactly as I am. Loved and cared for and supported by the people close to me.  And to enjoy the bounty of this earth and the body that I was born into.  All the fruits of the body and the soul and nature that this earth has to offer.  And to use with inspiration and joy the imagination that I was born with to create and have anything my heart’s desire can conjure.

Whatever I can imagine I can have.  And if I can have it, then by definition I deserve it because I already have it.
